Job Description

Be a part of The ARCHES Project Family First Program! This is a program that focuses on the support of families experiencing homelessness providing critical services that are unique to the needs of these neighbors.

The Family First Program Coordinator oversees daily operations at the ARCHES Family First Center ensuring a safe supportive space for families experiencing homelessness. This role supports staff in connecting families to housing support case management community resources and more. This is a grant-funded position that is renewable based on continuation of project funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school Diploma or GED.

  • Four years of social services experience preferably direct service delivery with a vulnerable client population. Experience must include Case Management program coordination and/or leadership/training.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS

  • Driver qualifications required for this position. Valid driver license insured vehicle available for use on the job and a satisfactory drive record for the past 3 years are required.

  • Basic Life Support/First Aid Certification is required within first 30 days of hire.

  • Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA and ODHS background screening prior to employment.

  • Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic proficiencies in computers and MS Office products database software and web tools. Must possess excellent planning organization and time management skills.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; write reports and business correspondence.

  • Demonstrates tact diplomacy and empathy when communicating with clients staff and program partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required.

  • Oversees the implementation and execution of the Family First Program that addresses the immediate needs of homeless families. This may include helping families navigate services such as meal services childcare job search assistance housing navigation support and access to medical and mental health resources.

  • Ensures smooth daily operations by coordinating staff schedules and resources.

  • Supports site staff in providing direct services to clients.

  • Works closely with ARCES Nest local service providers and partner organizations to enhance support efforts.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of housing regulations policies and procedures. Provides training and support to program staff to ensure consistent trauma-informed support for families.

  • Supports staff adherence to program and agency policies safety protocols and facility guidelines.

  • Ensures timely and accurate data using the Need Navigation data entry system.

  • Collaborates with community partners to provide onsite resources and services for clients.

  • De-escalates conflicts among program participants and ensures safety and well-being for everyone.

  • Prepares program reports on monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Utilizes time management skills and completes duties with an appropriate sense of urgency.

  • Attends and engages in required regular and annual trainings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory duties in this position.

  • Specific vision abilities are required for this position. Frequently required to hear and speak.
  • Consistent walking and/or standing and/or acceptable alternative mobility for majority of the workday.
  • Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.
  • Maintains calm dispositions when clients staff or others may become escalated.
  • Remains calm and positive while handling pressure of frequent demands for attention time and work tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Close quarters often with a client population experiencing homelessness substance use disorders and/or severe and persistent mental illness and/or unpredictable behavior.
  • Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
  • Working with clients over the phone and in-person.
  • This position requires on-site work and is not eligible for remote work.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours including evenings weekends and holidays.
