Job Duties:

The College of Engineering undergraduate academic affairs unit is a dynamic team committed to providing outstanding student services to the colleges 5000 undergraduate and 1600 graduate students. Embracing a holistic approach the unit includes academic advising career services study abroad student leadership scholarships and student wellness.

Engineering Career Services is a small and dedicated team focused on serving all students in the College and our alumni. The Career Education Coordinator role will focus on maintaining a career course developing and teaching career programming for undergraduate students and serve as a generalist career advisor.

This position will:

1. Serve as instructor for career education courses 2. Develop and lead workshops on career development topics 3. Create and develop marketing and promotional materials for career-related programming 4. Meet one-on-one to advise students on career options the job search process and job offer protocol and 5. Serve on the larger engineering career services team helping to facilitate large-scale events such as career fairs student visits to industry partners and alumni/student networking sessions.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Responds to questions and provides information regarding student services policies procedures and employment preparation

  • Develops and delivers career development programming and resource materials across various mediums to provide education to students

  • Participates in the campus-wide career services community providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising recruitment and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college/unit

  • Educates or advises students and recent alumni individually or in groups through various mediums about career exploration self-assessment skills materials development and career decisions

  • May identify and maintain a professional network of employers or other stakeholders to facilitate career exploration and employment opportunities for students

Embracing a holistic approach the unit includes academic advising career services study abroad student leadership scholarships and student wellness.

Compensation:

The starting salary for the position is $57000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Masters Degree Required (preference in higher education or related field)
