Kitchen Assistant Edward Little High SchoolRate of pay: $18.50/hr. 32.5 hours per week / School Year position / Eligible for Pay AveragingSUMMARY: This position functions as the person daily who prepares and serves the students at our popular deli bar at Edward Little High School (Grades 9-12). It consists of daily use of meat slicer and knives to portion out items to plan prepare and execute the days service and clean up afterwards. This position also assists in the preparation and service of our breakfast program including computer use and meal component & SKILLS:1. Demonstrates an attitude of flexibility in work assignments2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Committee policies.3. Ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently4. Follow instructions with a focus on accuracy and safety5. Kitchen Experience Preferred.6. Ability to follow oral and written TO: Kitchen ManagerJOB GOAL: Assist in all aspects of the preparation of our breakfast and lunch programs but function asthe person responsible for set up and service for our deli at Edward Little High RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Assist in preparation of cafeteria serving area for each days service emphasizing the foods quality and appearance for our customers.2. Help to replenish the food as needed.3. Adhere to ASDs HAACP plan and applicable school policies. Cashier training4. Follow strict protocols with cleaning and sanitizing5. Maintains USDA storerooms and freezers for the Nutrition Program.6. Prepare and serve deli must understand the operation of meat slicer including proper use and safe cleaning.7. Complete required (six) professional development hours annually at the dates and times set by the Nutrition Director.8. Other duties as DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently must squat stoop or kneel reach above the head and reach OF EMPLOYMENT: School year position.
