This Position reports to:
Global Techn. Mngr for Digital ServicesABBs Marine & Ports division drives energy efficiency safety and a clean maritime future through electric automated and digital solutions. Our integrated solutions and lifecycle services for ship and shore help owners and operators of vessels and cargo terminals optimize performance increase reliability and reduce emissions. From the pioneering Azipod propulsion system to advanced automation and digital connectivity we prepare the maritime industry to meet the demands of tomorrow.
With a team of 2000 experts operating from 26 locations worldwide we bring over 100 years of industry experience. To date we have electrified more than 1500 ships automated over 1700 container cranes and digitally connected more than 2000 vessels and terminals. We are looking for an inclusive and purpose-driven R&D Team Leader who is passionate about leading with empathy empowering teams and creating impactful this role you will guide a diverse group of Software Development Engineers toward achieving shared R&D goals fostering a culture where every team member feels heard supported and empowered to grow.
You will bring your technical expertise to help manage technologies platforms and Intellectual Property while contributing to a collaborative cross-functional environment. As a leader you will champion equity innovation and continuous learning encouraging each team member to bring their unique perspectives and talents to the table.
This role is contributing to the Process Automation Marine & Ports in Krakw. Main stakeholders are in Finland and Norway.

will be mainly accountable for:
Lead and inspirea diverse team of 11 Software Development Engineers in developing cloud and edge-based solutions that meet real-world needs.
Collaborate closelywith Product Managers to align team efforts with strategic business goals ensuring alignment and transparency in planning and execution of R&D initiatives.
Create a psychologically safe environmentwhere team members are encouraged to take initiative share ideas and challenge assumptions.
Build strong partnershipsacross global teamsincluding stakeholders in Finland and Norwayas well as with third-party partners.
Proactively identify risks and opportunities fostering resilience and agility within the team to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications for the role:
5 years experience inenterprise-grade software development particularly in back-end systems with a focus on reliability scalability and availability; University degree in Computer Science or similar field; experience in C# Azure.
A track record of leadershipin agile environments particularly with Scrum and a deep commitment to continuous improvement and team development.
Strongproblem-solving and communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to a variety of audiences and foster mutual understanding across cultural and technical boundaries.
Demonstrated ability tolead cross-functional teams manage complex projects from ideation through delivery and navigate ambiguity with clarity and purpose.
Fluency inboth Polish and English with excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
