Program Manager Financial Aid - Administrative Staff and unclassified pursuant to 124.11 (A) (30) and 3333.03 of the Revised Code. Serves at the pleasure of the Chancellor and in a fiduciary capacity to the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Reports to the Director Financial Aid. Has access to confidential and sensitive information and information systems including personally identifiable information as defined by FERPA.

TheOhio Department of Higher Education is a Cabinet-Level agency for the Governor of the State of Ohio that oversees higher education for the state. The agencys main responsibilities include authorizing and approving new degree programs managing state-funded financial aid programs and developing and advocating policies to maximize higher educations contributions to the state and its citizens.

About State Grants and Scholarships:

Ohio invests over $150 million in student financial aid annually. ODHE administers and tracks these funds providing guidance to institutions of higher education to assist in proper administration and documentation of financial aid received for their students. ODHE also administers grants that institutions of higher education are eligible to apply for through theRequest for Proposal (RFP)process.

State financial aid is awarded based on a number of factors including: areas of study (such as teaching science engineering technology math and medicine) academic merit financial need military status and more.
