What Youll Do as a Commissioning Engineer
As part of our Sustainability Services team youll ensure building systemsfrom HVAC to lighting to controlsare installed and operating as designed. Youll be there from project kickoff through completion seeing how systems work in the real world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to guide building projects from planning to performance.
- Visit job sites across the U.S. to test systems and troubleshoot performance and installation issues.
- Review system designs and equipment submittals to ensure they align with the owners goals.
- Create testing procedures and commissioning plans tailored to each project.
- Use hands-on field equipment to perform system testing and diagnostics.
- Assemble project closeout documents.
- Youll also get opportunities to explore other services NORESCO offers such as:
- Energy audits and retro-commissioning
- Decarbonization and building electrification
- Building controls testing and balancing
- Building certifications (LEED Green Globes WELL etc.)
- Travel up to 50%
What Were Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in building commissioning building systems or facilities
- Degree in Mechanical Electrical Facilities Engineering or Construction related
- Knowledge of HVAC energy codes (IECC) or LEED commissioning
- Interest in or working toward commissioning certifications (e.g. CBCP or BCA CxP)
- Familiarity with ASHRAE and commissioning tools/software
- Excellent communication organization and teamwork skills
- Curious hands-on learners with a passion for sustainability
