EMBS Engineering is actively recruiting for a skilled Machinist Charge Hand to join a leading precision engineering client in Tipton on a permanent full-time basis. This is a critical leadership role within the manufacturing environment where you will be responsible for the meticulous planning flawless execution and continuous improvement of your designated cell. Your responsibilities include:
Lead by example performing all duties required of a CNC Machinist (approximately 80% of the role) including machine set-up program adjustments and tool changes.
Manage all operational activities within the machining department reporting to the shift supervisor.
Take on line management responsibilities for machine operators ensuring the department is organised efficiently to maximise productivity.
Ensure that all team members adhere to procedures and instructions to guarantee that products are manufactured according to the production plan and specified quality standards.
Actively review and support efforts to improve cell utilisation and productivity while championing continuous improvement initiatives with an expectation of at least one documented improvement per week from the team.
Handle the management and reporting of all cell operatives time including shift arrangements holidays absences and overtime.
Participate in production control meetings to report on cell performance and identify recovery plans to improve performance levels.
Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:
Proven Track Record in CNC Machining: A proven track record of setting operating and programming multi-axis CNC machines in a high-integrity low-volume precision environment is essential.
Strong Technical Knowledge: You must possess strong technical knowledge of CNC machining adjusting offsets setting tooling and machine maintenance
Demonstrable Leadership: The successful candidate will be a highly capable machinist who can lead a team through their own demonstrable ability.
