Position Summary:
Learning Objectives
Le James is committed to offering robust experiential learning opportunities to all casual employees. As a Sales Assistant A you will gain real life experience in a retail environment. This will include learning to work as a team to offer quality service and products to the McGill Community.


Description:
The Sales Assistant A position involves performing many tasks such as:
Customer Service (which includes but is not limited to):
Greeting customers in a friendly manner
Ensuring customer and staff safety
Ensuring customers leave with a lasting positive impression
Assisting in the many facets of order fulfillment process which include but are not limited to:
Finding and gathering all items on the web orders assigned to you
Verifying that all items picked are correct
Preparing & packing in a timely manner all orders that need to be shipped or picked up
Handing out web orders and modifying the status of web orders
Shelving books folding/hanging clothes restocking and merchandising
Pricing products ensuring that all product codes are correct lifting 30lbs boxes and bins
Processing sales transactions looking up products in the database
Other duties assigned
Shifts assigned are expected to range between 5 and 8 hours


Requirements:
Must be a McGill student
Must be available for 2 days of training
Must be a self-starter punctual organized efficient and detail oriented
Must be fluent in English; the ability to speak French is an asset
Must be able to lift boxes of up to 30lbs
Must wear pants and sturdy closed-toed shoes
Prior experience as a cashier in customer service and in shipping is an asset

Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English.

This position is covered by the AMUSE Collective Agreement
