Job Description

Position: Escrow Assistant

Part-Time: 20 Hours

Location: San Diego CA

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Contract Assignment: ASAP Start - 12/31/2025
Potential for extension and temp to perm depending on the volume of the desk and fit of the candidate

Pay: $24.86 hourly paid weekly.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Escrow Assistant to join our team primarily supporting residential real estate transactions. This role operates within a branch or office setting providing administrative and client service support to the Escrow department. The Escrow Assistant may support a team or work directly alongside an Escrow Officer to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of closings from start to finish.

What Youll Do:

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the escrow process from order opening through closing.
  • Accurately enter and manage closing statement data and prepare necessary documents for transaction finalization.
  • Assist with the full disbursement and post-closing follow-up on escrow files.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to relay requirements request missing information and provide updates.
  • Interpret and apply contract terms and supporting documentation related to closing processes.
  • Ensure timely and compliant handling of all escrow files in accordance with company procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open new escrow orders and maintain accurate and organized file documentation.
  • Prepare settlement statements and closing documents under the direction of the Escrow Officer.
  • Coordinate with real estate agents lenders buyers and sellers throughout the transaction.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate more complex situations when necessary.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Support the Escrow Officer in ensuring all terms of the transaction are met prior to closing.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an escrow title or real estate transaction support role.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with escrow management systems.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and legal documents related to real estate closings.
  • Maintains professionalism and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels such as from office equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Use of computers and technology.
