Job Description

Student Worker - Kalb Collection Coordinator

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

Fine Arts is seeking a student art major or minor that is motivated to promote and cultivate student art from OWU studios.

This position requires working and communicating with a range of people in the OWU community:

  • Students
  • Staff and Faculty
  • Maintaining the social media

The work hours are flexible but the position requires availability during weekends.


Core responsibilities of the Gallery position:

  • Assist with installments of the exhibits (there should be 2-3 exhibits per semester)
  • Promote exhibits and Werner Gallery space to students and OWU community
  • Maintain the inventory of gallery supplies/tool

Core responsibilities of Collections:

  • Maintain the inventory of works in the Kalb collection
  • Slides collection and the departments Instagram account


Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good time management
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge to operate with basic power tools
  • Capacity to lift and move items - (approximately 30 -50 pounds weight)
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud platform
  • No previous experience necessary needs to be art major or minor

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning moving materials and maintenance

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Prefer art major/minor

Potential Future Career Benefit:

Understanding the requirements for maintaining an art gallery and art collection
