Your role as a vital member of our CAS team you will:

  • Independently manage month-end financial statements reconciliations forecasts/budgets and client consulting needs for diverse industries.
  • Report directly to the Manager or Principal overseeing client relationships ensuring personalized and effective service.
  • Enjoy a flexible work arrangement with the ability to work remotely visit client sites as needed and engage in in-office meetings and training to foster team collaboration and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage your expertise to prepare and meticulously maintain financial statements including complex journal entries detailed asset listings and comprehensive reconciliations to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide personalized high-level support to clients by addressing bookkeeping needs delivering effective training and resolving accounting challenges with professionalism and exceptional care.
  • Take ownership of payroll preparation and review processes coordinating accounts payable and ensuring compliance while completing essential tax-related documentation.
  • Expertly prepare and file quarterly payroll forms (e.g. Forms) and annual reporting forms (e.g. W-2 W-) demonstrating precision and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Manage the payroll process by collecting and entering payroll data directly into the payroll provider platform with precision and efficiency.
  • Play an active role in organizational development by assisting in the documentation of internal processes facilitating training initiatives and promoting knowledge-sharing across the team.

Who Were Looking For:

  • An Associate or BA/BS Degree holder in Accounting with 5 years of relevant public accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks online Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Excellent organization time-management and critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities with a client-focused approach.
  • Detail-oriented proactive and adaptable to overtime during busy periods.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team while managing independent tasks.
  • Hybrid work environment: Onsite presence required at least 3 days per week to start.
    • Flexibility for remote work options may be explored after demonstrating proven performance & commitment
  • Authorized to work in the United States and willing to travel locally within the Twin Cities metro area.

Olsen Thielen offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to reward performance and recognize your value to the firm. The starting salary range for this role is $75000 to $85000 based on factors like experience qualifications and organizational needs. Compensation also includes a bonus structure and eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program.
