POSITION OVERVIEW The Maintenance Supervisor leads a crew of mechanical maintenance craftsmen and is responsible for the safe execution of maintenance work in the chemical units of the Decatur Plant. This position is responsible for development and management of the maintenance budget within chemical areas as well as the development and supervision of technicians.
TARGETED OUTCOMES Safe and reliable execution of maintenance and reliability strategies Development of craftsmen including skill assessment and participation in training programs Management of Chemical maintenance budget
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures safety and environmental performance of mechanical maintenance team in all aspects of work Develops and communicates clearly defined expectations for direct reports and ensures performance through leadership coaching development and effective use of performance feedback processes Owns and drives reliability within the group including utilizing RCA/5-Why Analysis PdM technologies and precision maintenance Maintains assets in a safe and cost-effective manner with an emphasis on reliable manufacturing Leads and advances the mechanical maintenance team toward proactive maintenance culture with precision mindset including support of predictive preventive and corrective maintenance to improve assets effectiveness and optimize costs Partners with operating areas to provide appropriate resources and support to ensure process and equipment optimization Reviews and ensures accuracy of department procedures and equipment documentation. Ensures consistency/alignment of procedures with plant procedures and policies Ensures that appropriate resources necessary tools and equipment are available for employees to perform their functions.
TEAM Reports to: Maintenance Manager Team Members: 8-10 hourly mechanical maintenance craftsmen
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science preferred but not required Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in Chemical or Petrochemical Manufacturing with 2 years in leadership preferred Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing processes desired
