Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Operation and Technology Services Office the Project Manager Business Applications is responsible for managing monitoring reporting and delivering a portfolio of technology-focused projects at Harris County Public Health. The role involves leadership in coordinating cross-departmental initiatives ensuring alignment with agency-wide public health objectives and supporting strategic innovation in technology deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-departmental project teams by establishing clear objectives defining deliverables assigning responsibilities and ensuring all activities align with established public health priorities and agency goals.

  • Oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of IT projects monitoring key milestones budgets scopes and performance metrics to ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and to quality standards.
  • Provide transparent reporting on project status risks dependencies and change impacts to internal teams executive leadership and key stakeholders enabling informed decision-making.
  • Design implement and maintain standardized project management methodologies tools templates and workflows to improve efficiency consistency and compliance across the agency.
  • -Facilitate collaboration between internal departments external partners and vendors to align deliverables with stakeholder expectations operational requirements and long-term strategic objectives.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
  • Full-Time Regular Position.

  • Monday Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
  • 40 hours/Week.
  • Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department or task requirements. May require periodic overnight travel and long hours/overtime during emergencies/disasters.
Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • May require travel.

Physical Demands:
  • This is a largely sedentary role; however some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
Work Location:
  • HCPH - 1111 Fannin Street TX 77002.

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
