Job Description
Locum Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine
Join a vibrant community in Springfield Massachusetts where youll provide critical care in a well-equipped Emergency Department (ED) within a community hospital setting. Covering approximately 15% of total hospital admissions youll have the opportunity to play a vital role in a collaborative team comprised of 11 physicians and dedicated advanced practice providers. Experience working in a supportive environment where all shifts are staffed by two doctors and EPIC is used for documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency medical care in a fast-paced ED environment.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and APPs responding to house codes as needed.
- Engage in patient care autonomously while managing a variety of cases.
- Document patient interactions using the Epic EMR system.
- Supervise and monitor paramedics and ambulance communications via radio.
- Coordinate with multiple specialties for patient referrals and transfers.
Qualifications:
- Board certified Physician Assistant (no new graduates).
- Active Massachusetts state license.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Board certification as a PA is REQUIRED.
- Active license to practice in Massachusetts is REQUIRED.
- ACLS and BLS certifications are REQUIRED.
