This role works in our busy 16-bay emergency department with patient ratios of 1:4 and 1:6 in our fast-track area. This is a great opportunity to learn at a remote hospital that sees a lot of trauma cases!

How youll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Prioritizes and organizes delivery of nursing care; accepting a variety of assignments and consulting with other disciplines as appropriate.

• Performs plan of care intervention including medication administration specimen collection clinical treatments as well as other medical care treatment.

• Assists in staff development activities including orienting instructing and training others emphasizing departmental as well as interdepartmental cooperation and teamwork.

• Demonstrates sensitivity to patients comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.

• Relative to the patient age group(s) served: demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development stages assesses and interprets population-specific data possesses the necessary skills/knowledge to perform treatments. possesses knowledge of appropriate community resources involves family and/or significant other in plan of care.

• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living including personal hygiene elimination nutrition and ambulation.

• Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team physician patient and family.

• Documents patient care given.

• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer discharge referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age culture condition and circumstances.

• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

• Maintains a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.

• Assesses and documents patients knowledge level and response to individualized patient education activities.

What were looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate or bachelors degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• American Heart Association Certifications (non-AHA certifications valid only for up to 6 months from the date of hire or transfer and/or not to exceed the date of expiration): Basic Life Support (BLS) within 14 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90-days of hire. TNCC within 6 months of hire.
