Salary: Soulbury Scale Point 2 - 36109 per annum (pro rata for part time )

Working Hours:37 per week

Contract Type: Fixed term for 12 months

Leicestershire Educational Psychology Service (LEPS) provides great opportunities for diverse meaningful and innovative EP work within a supportive environment. Our goal is to provide access to high-quality psychological practice to a range of partners to improve the lives of children and families within our local communities. Our service is growing and we have received funding to support children and young people (CYP) experiencing social emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs particularly school avoidance/non-attendance. We are now actively seeking Assistant EPs to join and contribute to the service as we deliver this work.

Our offer currently includes:

  • Work with individual schools including specialist provisions
  • Training to support inclusive practice and interventions in schools
  • Whole School Approach project work in partnership with Public Health
  • Support to the Local Authority including our Critical Incident Response Team
  • Partnership working with other services

About the Role

As an Assistant Educational Psychologist in LEPS you will:

  • Assist with development planning and delivery of Educational Psychology services in Leicestershire for the benefit of children and their families.
  • Plan and deliver training and project work including developing training materials evaluation measures data analysis and report preparation.
  • Undertake supervised delivery of Educational Psychology services in schools in partnership with a fully qualified Educational Psychologist.
  • Prepare written feedback and information related to children and young people (always under appropriate supervision from a Qualified EP).
  • Work in partnership with schools settings and other agencies to support inclusive mainstream practice and a sense of belonging.
  • Actively engage in training CPD and professional supervision.
  • Follow and apply the key legislative requirements and Code of Practice that are relevant to Educational Psychology including those relating to SEND and Safeguarding.
  • Support the achievement of the Children and Family Service Directorates goals and ambitions.
  • Actively participate in team activities including team meetings project groups and task and finish groups.
  • Ensure the highest standards of service delivery and customer care are met at all times.
  • Protect and manage information securely reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches in line with Council policies.
  • Demonstrate the Councils values and a commitment to equality diversity and inclusion at all times.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
