Join our new Womens Temporary Accommodation service in Swansea as a Support Worker where you will provide hands-on daily support to clients assist with the admission and assessment of new residents and contribute to the smooth running of the service. You will work closely with case workers and the wider team to ensure client needs are met in a respectful trauma-informed and client-centred way. We are looking for compassionate and committed individuals who are motivated to make a real difference in the lives of women/children experiencing homelessness.
Support clients in line with their case plans offering guidance advocacy and practical assistance.
Assist with client intake orientation and daily site management to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Provide a range of client supports including supervision of activities group programs and ensuring the primary needs of clients are met.
Maintain high standards of accommodation including room preparation some laundry cleaning and general upkeep.
Conduct regular unit and room inspections implement appropriate routines and uphold service standards.
Maintain accurate and professional client records and documentation both electronic and handwritten.
Work within a risk management framework to ensure client and staff safety and compliance with WH&S standards.
Liaise with community services government agencies and internal teams to ensure client needs are effectively addressed.
Participate in a rotating roster covering day afternoon and sleepover shifts to meet operational requirements.
Flexibility to work a full-time roster including Shift 1 (7:0015:00) Shift 2 (10:0019:00) or a combination on a rotating schedule.
Appropriate Certificate or equivalent experience or current tertiary study in a related field.
Experience in community services accommodation services or similar is highly desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong customer service abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Sound judgment and ability to act appropriately in crisis and emergency situations.
Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
Ethical non-judgmental approach to clients and colleagues with a trauma-informed mindset.
