The Department of Mathematics & Statistics in the College of Science seeks a dynamic colleague committed to fostering teaching excellence and student development in a program that values creativity collaboration learner-centered pedagogy and sense of belonging. The new faculty member will join a collaborative group of 26 mathematics statistics and data science faculty who serve the entire university community.
We seek applications for a full-time 9-month non-tenure track Assistant Professional Professor position to begin in Spring 2026. Although this is a non-tenure track position progression in rank to professional associate and professional senior professor position is possible. We are particularly interested in a colleague who has a strong interest in teaching mathematics content courses for preservice teachers as well as teaching other introductory undergraduate mathematics courses.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach multiple courses in undergraduate mathematics education and general mathematics as well as participate in the ongoing development of such courses and take a leadership role in common assessment efforts. The workload is 30 hours of teaching (typically five three-hour courses per semester) and service activities over 9 months. No expectation for research is required.

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics in the College of Science has a commitment to service excellence and strives to educate students at the University so that they are prepared to use mathematics intelligently in their chosen fields of study and to understand mathematics as and when it affects their lives and participation in public affairs. The mathematics program provides its majors and graduate students with preparation for careers in education science and commerce as well as providing a solid foundation for further study in mathematics. We also strive to serve our community by providing expertise to local schools industry and business.

RequiredQualifications:
Ph.D. in Mathematics Education Mathematics or closely related fields.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate mathematics education and general mathematics courses.
Experience working with college level student populations.
Breadth and depth of mathematical knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong commitment and experience in teaching mathematics education courses for preservice teachers and mathematics educators.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in performing service.
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Experience teaching mathematics at K-12 level could be an added advantage
