Summary of Job Duties:

The Videographer/Editor is responsible for recording and editing video programs for UALR TVs cable and internet channels. Duties include scheduling and maintaining the programming server organizing and maintaining production equipment and supervising students working for UALR TV. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a Mass Communication or related field;

  • Experience in television or related broadcast industries;

  • Experience in professional media content development;

  • Experience working with students;

  • Supervisory experience in media production or related fields.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate professional audio/video equipment for both University Television and the School of Mass Communication;

  • Edit long-form and short-form content for both University Television and the School of Mass Communication;

  • Organize update and maintain the video archival system;

  • Program the automation server system weekly;

  • Create University Television IDs graphics animated opens and slides;

  • Travel to various venues in central Arkansas to record speakers and events;

  • Work evenings and occasional weekends during the academic year as needed;

  • Manage content development for UALR TV;

  • Oversee all physical and digital assets of the television station;

  • Supervise student workers and interns;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of professional video production and broadcast equipment;

  • Proficiency in non-linear editing Adobe Creative Suite and related software;

  • Familiarity with television studio production;

  • Ability to manage websites video streaming and social media platforms;

  • Strong community service orientation;

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong self motivation;

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
