Tintern Grammar seeks to appoint an exceptional educational leader to the position of Director of Teaching and Learning an important role overseeing curriculum assessment and reporting across the school. This role is also providing the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of teaching and learning and inspire excellence in both staff and students.
About the Role
The Director of Teaching and Learning leads the team of Heads of Learning to deliver a curriculum that is current challenging and responsive to student needs. You will provide direction and support to ensure teaching practice across the school reflects the latest research and best practice and that assessment and reporting processes meet both the schools high standards and government requirements.
You will also work closely with the IT Department to make the most of digital tools that can enhance learning improve data use and streamline processes. Key responsibilities include:
Leading curriculum assessment and reporting for Years 712
Supporting and developing the Heads of Learning team
Overseeing the use of student data to track progress and guide teaching
Coordinating subject selection processes and academic events
Driving teaching and learning initiatives including Cultures of Thinking
This is a full time ongoing secondary teaching position with the Position of Responsibility as Director of Teaching and Learning offered for a limited tenure of 3 years effective from Term 1 2026.

You will bring:
- Current VIT registration and relevant tertiary qualifications
- Proven excellence in secondary teaching
- Demonstrated leadership in teaching and learning at a secondary level
- Highly developed organisational communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication collaboration and organisational skills
- The ability to lead change and inspire others
- Committed to helping both students and staff achieve their best
