Job Description:
Provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist and in accordance with established standards and practices.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*
1. Applies knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to the appropriate age of patients i.e. infant pediatric adult and geriatric.
2. Demonstrates competence awareness of and sensitivity to the physical emotional and socio-psychological needs of all patients.
3. Delivers prescribed dose and planned course of radiation therapy to patients positions patients answers questions and explains procedures.
4. Performs daily time out procedures.
5. Maintains established department policies procedures objectives quality assurance programs and safety standards.
6. Collaborates with physicists dosimetrists nursing staff and physicians during treatment as well as coordinates support care services (social work dietary etc.).
7. Actively supports and participates in process improvement efforts and in team function/decisions.
8. Prepares treatment room and equipment for patients.
9. Other assigned duties.
Education:Associate degree in Radiation Therapy
Skills:Proficient in core job functions
Years of Experience:Internship completed minimum 1 year as a working RT
License:Ohio Radiologic License required to work in Ohio
Certification:ARRT CPR
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Bachelors of Radiation Therapy
Skills:Knowledge of Varian equipment/software EPIC
Years of Experience:1 year as a working RT; Simulation experience
License:Ohio Radiologic License
Certification:ARRT CPR
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment:Mask non-sterile gloves eye protection and lab coat.
Physical Demands:Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently lift/push/pull patients into position prolonged standing/walking must be able to see hear and move intermittently or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure the requirements of this position can be fully met.
