What Well Bring:
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our Database Engineering team with a primary focus on PostgreSQL. This role also includes supporting Oracle environments making it ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in both technologies.What Youll Bring:
- Act as a subject matter expert for PostgreSQL database operations including performance tuning troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Support Oracle database activities such as patching upgrades and migrations as needed.
- Design and implement robust backup replication and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to automate database operations and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with application teams to support schema changes query optimization and deployment processes.
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for database modernization with a focus on PostgreSQL adoption.
- Ensure compliance with security audit and data governance requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
Impact Youll Make:
- 6 years of experience in database engineering with demonstrated expertise in PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL internals performance tuning and high-availability configurations.
- Experience supporting Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
- Strong SQL and scripting skills (e.g. Bash Python or Perl).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Ansible Terraform) and monitoring solutions.
- Comfortable working in a Kanban/SAFe Agile environment.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- PostgreSQL certification or equivalent experience preferred; Oracle certifications are a plus.
