Job Description

ASSOCIATE DENTIST

Job Description:

Provide preventive dental services to patients including applications of fluoride and sealants to teeth and provide education in oral and dental hygiene. Diagnose and treat diseases injuries and malformations of teeth and gums and related oral structures. Examine patients to determine the nature of the condition. Clean fill extract and replace teeth following established standards practices and protocols. Obtain complete dental histories and physical data on patients. Perform a complete dental exam and assessment and records findings. Manage acute and long-term dental needs of patients. Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed. Maintain and review patient records charts and other pertinent information. Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures and evaluate tests and examination results. Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention and/or treatment. Administer medications and injections per licensing guidelines. Interview and advise patients regarding dental maintenance and oral health. Refer patients as appropriate instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions and manage dental emergencies. Provide monitoring and continuity of care between clinic visits as required and remain current in advanced practice changes translating these findings into clinical practice.

Job Requirements:

  1. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) or its foreign equivalent.
  2. Current and valid license to practice dentistry in the State of Indiana.
  3. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
