Job Description
Kate Furbish Elementary School is a large nature-based and nurturing learning community- serving students from PreK through Grade 2 in Brunswick Maine. We are committed to fostering curiosity creativity and a love of learning in every child. Our staff is passionate about early childhood development and dedicated to creating an inclusive and joyful classroom experience. We proudly implement the Maine Department of EducationsFor MEprogram in all of our classrooms which provide rich developmentally appropriate learning experiences designed to support whole-child growth. Intentional play is an integral part of our day.
We are seeking a compassionate enthusiastic and experienceded tech to join our incredible PreK team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of early childhood education a passion for helping young learners grow academically socially and emotionally and a commitment to collaboration.
Qualifications:
- 2 Years of College or Equivalent Experience preferred
- Ed Tech Authorization through the Maine Department of Education
- Maine Criminal History Records Check
Desired candidates will:
- Have successful PreK experience
- Utilize a collaborative mindset and a positive flexible attitude
- Demonstrate familiarity with or willingness to learn Maine DOEs PreKFor MEprogram and philosophy
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment supportive of academic and social learning
- Show a strong understanding of child development
- Collaborate with colleagues esecially the lead teacher to support student success
