About the role:
The Director of Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting operations of the company ensuring compliance with accounting standards enhancing financial processes and maintaining impeccable financial records. This role reports directly to the SVP of Finance and plays a critical part in financial decision-making supporting the company through strategic insights and management of the accounting team.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Oversee all activities of the accounting department including accounts payable receivable payroll and general ledger.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with all accounting regulations (US and India) and company policies.
Manage monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances in collaboration with the Director of FP&A.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Manage and comply with local state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings working closely with our external tax partners.
Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Provide leadership and direction to accounting staff promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Work closely with the Director of FP&A to analyze financial data and optimize financial performance and business operations.
Handles all Corporate Secretarial activities. Ensures that the organization is compliant with local rules and regulations.
Manages the operations of both India & US entities. Specifically manages the HR administration processes such as Payroll Provident fund Tax 401K and Insurances.
Bachelor s degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field.
CPA/CA or Master s Degree required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Accounting with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling budgeting and forecasting.
Well versed with US GAAP and IGAAP accounting principles.
Excellent analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing teams.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and financial planning software.
Exceptional communication skills capable of presenting complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format.
Proven record of financial process improvement.
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Good communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English.
Focus on details quality improvement automation of processes and capacity building.
Experience with a US based company preferred.
