Job Description

3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Childrens Senior Practitioner to join a Looked After Children (LAC) and 16 Children Looked After Team on a temporary basis.
The practitioner will be responsible for the ongoing assessment planning and intervention for children and young people in care.
You will ensure timely and appropriate services are accessed and that the voice of the child remains central to all planning and decision-making processes.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Undertake ongoing assessment work and interventions with children and their families.
Progress childrens care plans ensuring appropriate support is in place.
Act as Case Manager coordinating and chairing review meetings as needed.
Carry out statutory visits to children looked after by the local authority.
Complete and contribute to Child and Family Assessments.
Provide families with information and guidance to assist in resolving challenges.
Liaise and collaborate with multi-agency professionals and external partners.
Present evidence and professional reports in court as required.
Participate in the team duty rota.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records and case documentation.
Work alongside carers parents and guardians to promote the welfare of children and ensure compliance with CLA requirements.

Skills/Experience:
Strong experience working with children looked after and care leavers.
Ability to manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision.
Confident in multi-agency working and advocating for the needs of vulnerable children.
Skilled in writing clear concise reports and presenting evidence in court.
Proficient in electronic case recording systems.

Additional Information:
This is a hybrid-working role offering a 37-hour work week and falling inside IR35.
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.

Education
