School of Performing Arts:
The School of Performing Arts is part of the College of Arts and Humanities and comprises the Music and Theatre programs with more than 100 faculty and staff serving more than 1000 undergraduate and graduate students earning degrees in the performing arts as well as thousands of students from other majors across the university taking music theatre and dance classes. It produces outstanding practitioners educators and scholars in Music and Theatre while fostering a strong relationship between the community and the artists.
The Opportunity:
The School of Performing Arts seeks an Assistant Box Office Manager and marketing support to fill a part-time 20 hours per week position. The work schedule will vary as needed and will include nights and weekends.
Classification Title: Office Support Assistant (TEMP)
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Manager on Duty in the box office in the absence of the Box Office manager:
Supervise student and box office staff take tickets at shows unlock/lock theatre building before/after performances.
Maintain clean and safe public spaces communicate with SM team on duty implement crowd control procedures as needed.
Assist the Box Office Manager with daily box office or night-time/weekend show operations:
Work in the box office for evening/weekend shows as assigned deliver excellent customer service driving theatre patrons in the golf cart fill in for the student house manager if needed create/maintain box office spreadsheets and other general duties.
Assist the Box Office Manager with general duties that include attending meetings open/close box daytime box office prepare cash deposits build-edit shows in Purplepass answer box office emails.
With any remaining hours provide support for the Marketing Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 0 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in any field.
2 years of relevant experience.
Box office experience.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:
Average of 20 hours per week; schedule varies as needed for events to include nights and weekends.
The anticipated rate for this position is $15.00 per hour.
Position requires a valid Class E drivers license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
