Job Description

Position Summary

The position is responsible for overseeing the repair maintenance and commissioning of new equipment ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and safely. This role also manages and organizes all records related to the technical services area maintaining accurate documentation for compliance and operational needs. Additionally the position ensures that all fleet vehicles are kept in as new condition through regular inspections servicing and proactive maintenance.

Essential Job Functions

Technical Services

  • Responsible for all set-up and configuration scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the following equipment:
  • Durable biomedical equipment (portable).
  • Portable communications equipment.
  • In-vehicle communications equipment.
  • In-vehicle biomedical equipment.
  • Ancillary in-vehicle equipment.
  • Maintain records for all portable and in-vehicle biomedical equipment portable and in-vehicle communications equipment and all ancillary in-vehicle equipment.
  • Track all in-house and outside equipment repairs.
  • Keep technical services area clean and orderly at all times.

Detailer

  • Clean and wax automotive paint finishes.
  • Polish chrome and stainless steel.
  • Clean glass surfaces.
  • Shampoo upholstery and carpets.
  • Clean all the cabinetry in both crew and patient compartments.
  • Clean all floor surfaces.
  • Clean and dress all rubber plastic and vinyl surfaces.
  • Communicate with Central Supply regarding the status of vehicles.
  • Maintain cleanliness of wash bay and other work areas.
  • Maintain detail supply inventory.

Secondary Job Functions

  • Responsible for completion and accuracy of all records.
  • Assures all safety rules and guidelines are followed.
  • Maintains a professional appearance when representing American Ambulance.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Assures compliance and enforcement of all policies procedures processes and protocols of the American Ambulance Employee Handbook.
  • Promote good morale by exhibiting exemplary conduct a positive attitude and support for communication personnel and American Ambulance.
  • Treats all patients patients families and friends health care agency personnel and all members of the public with respect and professionalism.
  • Responsible for proper use of all facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for returning all issued equipment in work conditions in at the end of employment or when requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid California Driver License.
  • Maintain minimum rate of insurability for vehicle operation.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math/reading skills.

Financial Authority

  • May request equipment/supplies through the department director/manager.
  • May request the purchase of inventoried items.
  • May request equipment maintenance/repairs through department director/manager.
  • May not contract or make financial commitments on behalf of the Company.

Human Resources Authority

  • May not request hiring of employees.
  • May not discipline employees.

Communications Authority

  • May not release employee-related information.
  • May not release Company-related information.
  • May use Company letterhead with the permission of the department director/manager.
  • May not communicate with the media

Key Performance Measurements

To be determined by the Support Services Manager and Director of Support Services.

Equipment Demands

This position operates primarily in a garage/warehouse type environment and routinely uses cleaning tools and equipment which includes equipment-specific tools detailing tools and pressure washing equipment. This position requires the use of basic hand tools. Computers radios phones copiers and fax machines may also be used.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to a height of 20 inches safely.
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle with a door/bumper height of 18 inches.
  • Must be able to climb up & down and perform work while on a ladder.
  • Must possess the manual dexterity to safely operate all required equipment.
  • Must be able to work for prolonged periods of time while standing.
  • Must be able to perform work at or above shoulder level
  • Must be able to perform work while kneeling stooping or squatting.

Environmental Demands

  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to work in poor lighting conditions
  • Must be able to work in temperatures with sudden changes
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are expected to be normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

There may be occasional travel for conferences seminars and training.
