JOB TITLE: Veteran Liaison
DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB: Student Engagement Veteran Center FVCC Kalispell Campus
ELIGIBILITY: Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)
PAY RANGE: $14-15 per hour
WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional evenings and weekends. Works up to 19 hours per week.
DRESS CODE: Business casual with appropriate coverage
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE Support the Veteran Center under the supervision of the Student Engagement Coordinator.
POSITION DUTIES Perform customer service by greeting students Maintain the cleanliness of the FVCC Veteran Center Promote the FVCC Veteran Center and the FVCC Veterans Association Assist with planning promotion and implementation of special projects and events Assist with resource information at outreach and special events Perform general office tasks using office equipment such as a computer and a photocopier Perform other duties as requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work independently or as a team player Ability to work with students staff faculty and community partners Willingness to try new things
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience with the Service Learing Program
Previous experience with social media
STUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Communication critical and reflective thinking customer service leadership professionalism teamwork
PREDICTED OUTCOME: Practical competence critical thinking collaboration communicating effectively technological competence demonstrating professionalism and teamwork
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES: Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for the fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment. Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during the semester. Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media. Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to the work schedule effective communication/interpersonal skills and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
