We are seeking a talented and passionate Demi Chef De Partie - Halwai to join our culinary team in Mysuru India. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will specialize in creating authentic Indian sweets and desserts while supporting the overall operations of our bustling kitchen.
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian sweets and desserts ensuring high quality and consistency
- Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and food preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Contribute to menu development and suggest new dessert ideas
- Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of ingredients and supplies
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Indian sweet-making techniques
- Assist in food cost control and waste reduction efforts
- Participate in special events and catering services as needed
Qualifications :
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Halwai or in a similar role
- Expertise in preparing a wide range of Indian sweets and desserts
- Strong knowledge of regional Indian cuisines
- Proficiency in using various kitchen equipment and tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts (preferred)
- Current Food Safety Certification
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning
