Job Description
Our client who provides Freight forwarding & logistics services require an experienced General Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Finance/ Operations you will be primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company s logistics and transport operations to ensure efficiency profitability and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive business strategies that align with the company s vision and objectives.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Establish and maintain strong long-lasting relationships with key clients vendors and business partners.
- Set clear performance targets conduct regular appraisals and provide constructive feedback.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets forecasting revenue and expenses accurately.
- Monitor the implementation of strategies and make adjustments to improve performance and profitability.
- Monitor client feedback and implement improvements to service delivery based on client needs.
- Monitor financial performance regularly by reviewing reports identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee all daily logistics and transport operations to ensure timely safe and cost-effective delivery of services.
- Ensure compliance with local and international transport regulations safety standards and company policies.
- Lead recruitment efforts to build a competent and motivated team.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork accountability and professional development.
Requirements
- Must have at least a Bachelors degree in Accounting Supply Chain Management Logistics or a related field.
- Must have at least five (5) years of working experience in Logistics Supply Chain Management Accounting or a related field.
- Must have proven experience in both Accounting and Supply Chain Management.
- Possess strong organizational skills and analytical abilities.
- Possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Must possess strong people management skills and leadership skills.
- Experience in financial management and managing budgets.
- Must possess excellent communication skills ( written and oral).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel and PowerPoint).
