Job Description
TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly respected firm of Chartered Accountants in Brighton & Hove with the recruitment of a Senior/Semi-Senior Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice that prides itself on delivering exceptional accounting tax and business advisory services to a diverse client base.
The Role
- The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a varied portfolio of clients ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
- Financial reporting and compliance Preparing and reviewing financial statements annual accounts tax returns bookkeeping VAT and management reports.
- Client relationship management Acting as a trusted adviser supporting clients with day-to-day queries software use (Xero Sage QuickBooks) and proactive advice.
- Team training and mentoring Supervising and developing junior team members reviewing work and fostering their professional growth.
- Quality control and compliance Maintaining the highest standards in line with UK GAAP/IFRS and current tax legislation.
- Continuous improvement Identifying opportunities to enhance internal processes and the client service experience.
Requirements
About You
- We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant who is technically strong client-focused and highly organised. The ideal candidate will have:
- AAT/ACA/ACCA qualification (or working towards) essential
- At least 2 years experience within a practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and tax compliance
- Experience with Xero Sage and/or QuickBooks (IRIS experience is advantageous)
- Good Excel skills and strong IT literacy
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly
- A proactive organised and analytical approach
