The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a varied portfolio of clients ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
Financial reporting and compliance Preparing and reviewing financial statements annual accounts tax returns bookkeeping VAT and management reports.
Client relationship management Acting as a trusted adviser supporting clients with day-to-day queries software use (Xero Sage QuickBooks) and proactive advice.
Team training and mentoring Supervising and developing junior team members reviewing work and fostering their professional growth.
Quality control and compliance Maintaining the highest standards in line with UK GAAP/IFRS and current tax legislation.
Continuous improvement Identifying opportunities to enhance internal processes and the client service experience.
Requirements
About You
We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant who is technically strong client-focused and highly organised. The ideal candidate will have:
AAT/ACA/ACCA qualification (or working towards) essential
At least 2 years experience within a practice environment
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and tax compliance
Experience with Xero Sage and/or QuickBooks (IRIS experience is advantageous)
Good Excel skills and strong IT literacy
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly
A proactive organised and analytical approach
