Position Overview:
The Test & Validation Manager leads the end-to-end validation planning and execution for energy storage systems (ESS) ensuring that product-level risks are addressed through a structured and scalable Design Verification Plan (DVP). This role defines the overall validation strategy across module unit and system levels based on functionality safety performance durability and compliance needs. The manager coordinates across battery institute internal and external lab to ensure timely test execution and certification readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the ESS DVP covering all relevant dimensions: Functionality Safety Performance Durability Homologation and Regulatory Compliance.
- Determine the appropriate validation level (module/system) for each objective based on technical risk and regulatory context.
- Coordinate cross-functional input to the DVP including DFMEA certification input and integration dependencies.
- Track test execution progress (internal and external) identify blockers and drive resolution through structured review and escalation.
- Ensure certification readiness by providing validated data traceability documentation.
- Lead regular validation review meetings and support program milestone reporting to senior management.
- Support continuous improvement of the validation process by standardizing test coverage frameworks and lessons learned.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree or higher in engineering; energy storage or automotive background preferred.
- 6 years in validation quality or R&D engineering roles with project leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of DVP DFMEA and system-level validation strategy.
- Experience working with certification standards (e.g. UL 9540A IEC 62933) and regulatory compliance planning.
- Excellent cross-functional coordination risk management and communication skills.
