JOB SUMMARYThe Bindery Utility Operator/Machine Operator will oversee all phases of the operation and maintenance of the bindery equipment. Interfaces with supervision and line employees to ensure product is produced efficiently within quality specifications. Has the skill or ability to operate one or more types of bindery machinery and be willing to learn the operation and maintenance of all types of bindery machinery. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 2nd shift 2pm-12am - 4 days/10hr shift. - Operate multiple types of bindery machinery (cutters stitchers and folders) in efficient manner in accordance with company standards for large commercial print.
- Responsible for the set-up and follow through on product from start to finish according to specifications listed on job tickets.
- Pulls sheets according to guidelines to check quality and accuracy of work.
- Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on the machinery as needed.
- Assists in the completion of records job ticket information as required.
- Maintain level of housekeeping that complies with company standards.
- Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- The minimum education required is High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills
- Prior bindery experience preferred.
- Color vision required.
- This position requires an ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Maintain level of housekeeping that complies with company standards.
- Must be team oriented - a team player willing to work for the good of the total team.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work days nights weekdays weekends holidays and willing to work overtime when needed.
