Join our team as a Senior Accountant and become an essential part of our Company.
Penn Machine Company a Marmon Group/Berkshire Hathaway Company is a proven 100 year old company in a growth industry. We are a leading manufacturer of products and services for the transit railroad mining general industry and oil/gas industries in the US and globally.
In this role youll report directly to the Controller and lead day-to-day accounting operations. Were looking for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating across departments.
What Youll Do:
Oversee general ledger activities and ensure timely accurate financial reporting
Supervise one Junior Accountant and provide functional guidance to AP AR and Payroll
Support payroll processing reconciliations and journal entries
Assist with inventory and cost accounting including variance analysis
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements reporting and tax compliance
Support audits and help maintain strong internal controls
Recommend process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
What Were Looking For:
Minimum Associates degree in Accounting Finance or Business
3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing
Payroll experience required ADP Workforce Now preferred
Knowledge of GAAP SOX and proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Experience with cost accounting and/or inventory are pluses
