Job Description

Position Overview:

Under general supervision the Service Maintenance Engineer serves as a focal point of all machining operations within the company and requires coordination of work with other departmental supervisors machinists sub-contractors engineering and management to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.

Key Job Duties:

  • Machine safety throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team
  • Oversee all outsourced manufacturers representatives and vendors performing work at the facility
  • Execute cost cutting measures where ever applicable and assess efficiencies in facility processes.
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure supplies for regular facility maintenance is on hand.
  • Aid in the development of corporate wide maintenance standards
  • Preventative Maintenance of facility equipment including changing lubricants filters inspecting drive belts checking for leaks and other wear/tear on equipment
  • Document preventative maintenance work done throughout the facility
  • Fabrication Design and building of new components as well as assembling new parts includes designing cutting material drilling welding and electrical
  • Handling and storage of waste and hazardous material
  • Work closely with all departments to develop and implement programs to meet business objectives.
  • Promote a Team mentality.
  • Organize work station in the facility

Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • General Manufacturing Methods and Procedures Process Improvement Documentation Skills
  • Safety Management
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Skill in operating standard office equipment including a personal computer and related software
  • Considerable knowledge of the tools equipment materials methods and standard practices of the trade
  • Experience working with suppliers
  • Time management skills
  • Sourcing and purchasing experience with facility related equipment and systems
  • Experience in Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies a plus
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9000 quality standards a plus
  • Previous work experience with military products and/or DOD is a plus
  • Good working knowledge of CNC controls and mechanicals. Prefer Mori Seiki Haas and PLCs.
  • Process control and instrumentation (temperature control flow pressure levels etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of various conveyor systems with troubleshooting experience
  • General working knowledge of all facility related equipment & systems
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 15 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates or technical degree
