Extended Day Program Employee

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Job Title: Extended Day Employee (Part-Time)

Hours: 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM Monday through Friday

Pay: $25/hour

Reports To: Extended Day Program Coordinator

ST. RITAS EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY:

St. Rita School Extended Day Program provides a safe welcoming environment for the students at St. Rita School to pray learn play and foster relationships outside of the comprehensive classroom. Parents will be assured that their child is in a safe and caring environment as they complete their work and ministry before picking up their child.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise a group of elementary and/or middle school students (ages 4 14) from 2:30 pm 6:30 pm (Monday through Friday)
  • Prepare and lead age-appropriate activities such as sports and games crafts and creative play.
  • Provide homework supervision and academic support as needed.
  • Be punctual present and attentive at all duties.
  • Assist with the check-in and check-out process for students.
  • Distribute and supervise snack time.
  • Implement positive discipline techniques to manage student behavior that is in harmony with school rules procedures and St. Rita School policy.
  • Work in a collaborative and kind way with other extended day staff.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Must enjoy working with children.
  • Must have previous experience working with children.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lead engaging activities for children of various ages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and a fingerprint clearance.
  • Current CPR (the school will cover this cost and provide training).
