About this Job
- Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Acadiana who have behavioral Health and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
In this role you will play a key part in advancing community well-being by coordinating and delivering prevention services for AAHSD. The incumbent performs monitoring and provides technical assistance to prevention contractors. Each prevention contract must implement an evidence-based program to ensure fidelity produce outcome measures based on state and federal guidelines and input services in the Prevention Management Information System (PMIS). Broad supervision is received from the Program Manager 1-B-LDH with the opportunity to make a measurable impact on the communities we serve.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services; OR
A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus one year of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Program Monitor LDH
- Plans and oversees the implementation of the districts prevention programs within seven parishes to ensure the provision of alcohol tobacco and other drug prevention information/services which include but are not limited to education information dissemination community-based processes environmental strategies and/or referrals for other services.
- Develops and maintains documentation of prevention services and conducts weekly site visits to schools in the parishes that are providing the evidence-based programs to ensure compliance with the programmatic activities and fidelity.
- Reviews and administers weekly the OBH Prevention Management Information (PMIS) for the district to determine if enrollment numbers prevention activities and services are entered by the contractors in a timely manner and comply with the contracts Statement of Work.
- Develops organizes facilitates and participates in other community agency coalitions to prevent the spread of alcohol tobacco and other drugs (ATOD)
- Meets quarterly with the School Based Health Clinic coordinators to assess their need for services and to provide prevention materials.
- Maintains eligibility for Behavioral Health Flexible Family Funds agreements/active cases and service requests lists.
- Prepares and monitors behavioral health contracts amendments and related documents.
- Is responsible for preparing and assisting with the negotiation and formation of all prevention contracts with the agency by establishing measurable performance indicators and suitable guidelines in the Statement of Work (SOW) which explains what service deliverables are to be provided.
- Provides direction and assistance to AAHSD contractors with routine programmatic and budget issues in addition to assessing and identifying service needs as they relate to contract programs.

Prevention Certification:The incumbent in the position must either obtain credential as a Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) or as a Registered Prevention Professional (RPP) or as a Licensed Prevention Professional (LPP) issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA) or its successor pursuant to the Addictive Disorders Practice Act LA RS 37.3386-3390.6 within six (6) years of hire date
