Under the administrative arm of the Board of Regents the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) administers Louisianas premier merit-based scholarship program the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) Louisianas need-based component to the states financial aid plan to support non-traditional and low to moderate-income students called Go Grant the states 529 college savings plan called the Student Tuition Assistance and Revenue Trust (START) program the educational savings plan for K-12 tuition called the START K-12 program the 529-A savings plan called the Louisiana ABLE program the Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship program TOPS Tech Early Start Program for 11th and 12th graders the John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program the work force development program that provides financial assistance for students enrolled in one of 5 high demand high pay industry sectors called the MJ Foster program and scholarships for students enrolled in teacher preparation programs called the Geaux Teach program.

LOSFA is extremely active in the dissemination of college access information within the state with a concentration on assisting students from low-income families and first-generation college attendees in locating and obtaining the resources necessary to pursue and complete a postsecondary education. To attain this LOSFA regularly partners with other entities including the Louisiana Department of Education (LADOE) the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Statewide School Districts U.S. Department of Education the Louisiana Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and conjunction with DCFS LOSFA provides payment processing assistance for the Chafee Education and Training Voucher for students who have aged out of the foster care system and Strategies to Empower People (STEP) to aid government-assisted citizens in obtaining their Adult Education certificate and Vocational Education training.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Digital Media Specialist will be responsible for creating compelling visual content managing our social media platforms and providing technical support for meetings and events. The Digital Media Specialist will collaborate with our graphic designers to produce high-quality content that engages our audience and aligns with our brand identity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Digital Media Communications Marketing or related field.
  • Proven experience in videography photography and managing social media platforms.
  • Strong creative and technical skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects and other video editing software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience providing technical support for meetings and events is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential and other important duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Creating engaging and dynamic videos and other digital content that highlight LOSFAs programs services and events.
  • Maintaining an archive of videography and b-roll footage of agency events; activities; and community business and postsecondary locations to be used for agency content and promotions.
  • Overseeing and implementing LOSFAs social media outreach strategy developed in collaboration with the communications team.
  • Collaborating with the Public Relations Specialist in planning and coordinating the social media schedule for posting content.
  • Increasing our social media following and engagement through strategic campaigns and content.
  • Providing data for reports related to social media analytics.
  • Photographing agency events and maintaining a digital archive of stock images to be used for agency content designs promotions presentations and publications.
  • Collaborating with graphic designers to create visually appealing and cohesive social media content.
  • Collaborating with the communications teams and contributing to all marketing communications and promotional campaigns.
  • Updating content on the agency website as needed.
  • Providing technical support for meetings and events including setting up and operating audiovisual equipment.
  • Staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital media and social media marketing.
  • Maintaining editorial tone and compliance with national standards LOSFA goals web style guide legal and compliance.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
