Head of Deployed Services UK & International
Full time
Bristol/Hybrid (minimum 3 days in office)
What you will be doing
Deployed Services are at the centre of how we work with our Defence customers with teams located around the world working directly with our customers to deliver our commitments. This is an exciting and key role leading the function to ensure that we have the capability to deliver for our customers today and in the future all whilst Putting Safety First.
Directly leading the team that is at the centre of delivering waterfront services to the Royal Navy commissioning activities across multiple global warship programmes and the Flex Aero team that provides services globally to our Aero customers. The role also owns the Deployed Services function including authorisations Form 4 Holder Technical Authority and capability development to ensure that the UK&I Deployed Services can deliver for our customers and meet contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
- Put Safety First as the Accountable Person for our Deployed Services UK & International teams
- Act as the Technical Authority for Deployed Services and MAA Form 4 Holder
- Lead the Deployed Services Function including Authorised Field Service Personnel (AFSP) process developing our people and capability to ensure that we can deliver our customer commitments. Ensuring we have the right capacity and capability where required.
- Define and deliver the Deployed Services Function strategy so that Deployed Services can continue to meet programme requirements for future contracts
- Ensure alignment and influence wider Defence and RR Deployed Services engaging across the business to develop approach to functional management
- Provide direct line management and operational leadership for our Naval and Aero Flex Deployed Services Team

- Must be capable of achieving and maintaining Technical Authority and MAA Form 4 Holder Status for Deployed Services
- Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance practices and five years aviation experience of which at least three years should be practical maintenance experience
- Understanding of customer operations at product and platform level the environments they operate in and levels of related maintenance practices/levels and deep understanding of the MRP145 Regulations and their application or other relevant regulatory environment.
- Experience in a Service Operations role(s) or similar roles demonstrating breadth of experience and implementing new capability / change at pace.
- Experience of leading global teams including through periods of change
- Strong negotiation communication and stakeholder management
- Experience of defining and delivering functional direction improvement and change including leadership and team engagement
