Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a full time Receptionist to join our team at our HeartPlace clinics in Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally answer a high volume of incoming phone calls.
  • Triage calls to the appropriate personnel including cardiologists nurses medical assistants or administrative staff.
  • Take clear and concise messages and relay them accurately and promptly.
  • Handle calls from pharmacies insurance companies and other healthcare providers.
  • Schedule reschedule and cancel patient appointments in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information at the time of scheduling.
  • Send appointment reminders and prepare new patient packets.
  • Manage physician schedules block off time for meetings and other commitments.
  • Answer general questions about the clinic services offered and appointment procedures.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding their appointments (e.g. location required documents pre-appointment instructions).
  • Handle patient inquiries regarding prescriptions test results and billing issues and direct them to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed such as faxing scanning and filing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting required.
  • Experience in a cardiology or other specialty medical office is highly preferred but not required.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is required; eCW experience is preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology particularly cardiology-related terms (e.g. arrhythmia echocardiogram stress test hypertension).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive work ethic.
