You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department of Medicine seeks Gastroenterologists on the academic clinician (CHS) or clinician teacher (CT) track to join our faculty. Candidates with an interest in these areas are considered: general gastroenterology inflammatory bowel disease disorders of swallowing and/or other aspects of clinical gastroenterology as practiced in a tertiary care center. The successful candidate will provide patient care and engage in scholarly work including teaching and research.
This position is full or part time 80%-100%
This position requires work to be completed onsite at a designated campus work location.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.
The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Professor (CHS) Associate Professor (CHS) and Assistant Professor (CHS) Clinical Professor Clinical Associate Professor and Clinical Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will provide direct patient care at University Hospitals and Clinics the William S. Middleton Veterans Affairs Hospital UnityPoint Meriter Hospital and at UW Health approved locations as well as outreach locations.
The primary clinical practice will include procedural inpatient and ambulatory care to include endoscopy procedures as well as sub-specialty care in gastroenterology.
The candidate will also be involved with teaching medical students residents and fellows.
The successful candidate will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology is required by the appointment start date.
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)Certification required.
Candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.
Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.
Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.
For an appointment as Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track faculty candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track.
Clinical responsibilities and academic interests in with interest in general gastroenterology or sub-specialties such as inflammatory bowel disease disorders of swallowing and/or other aspects of clinical gastroenterology as practiced in a tertiary care center.
MD DO or equivalent is required
