As a Director of Software Engineeringat JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banks Equities Tech Team you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams technologies and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software applications technical processes and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
- Makes decisions that influence teams resources budget tactical operations and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions control obligations and measures of success such as cost of ownership maintainability and portfolio operations
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business product and technology teams
- Champions the firms culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10 years applied addition 5 years of experience leading technologists to manage anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Expert in Computer science fundamentals - object oriented design data structures algorithm problem solving complexity analysis server side development experience with Core Java & multi-threading.
- Experience with Messaging broker Kafka AMPS
- Expert in Cloud Technology - AWS.
- Experience with REST API Spring boot ORM
- Experience with RDBMS/No-SQL.
- Experience with Scripting Shell/Python
- Ability to work in a team environment and partner with development and support teams globally ability to lead projects independently and provide guidance to the team.
- Strong business focus and a clear understanding that technology is the means to achieving business goals.
- Effective partnership skills to work with the business to ensure requirements are captured correctly.
- Ability to perform in a fast paced environment where time to delivery and/or resolution is critical to protect/increase revenue stream.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Knowledge of software engineering practices for SDLC including coding standards code reviews build processes & operations
- 18 years of progressive experience in systems and technology preferably with exposure to financial systems.
