Position at loanDepot

Position Summary:
Responsible for leading key areas of the Accounts Payable department by processing and analyzing accounts payable transactions with a high attention to detail. Provides guidance to AP Specialists and reviews work to ensure optimal productivity. Resolves complex issues and discrepancies and trains mentors and assists in directing the work of more junior-level staff. Assists with Treasury month-end cash flow management decisions to satisfy loan covenant requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides coaching and daily oversight to the Accounts Payable team ensuring optimal performance productivity and adherence to departmental standards.

  • Leads critical AP functions including accurate invoice processing payment verification and timely data entry into accounting systems with a strong focus on detail and accuracy
  • Performs and oversees complex monthly uploads of large vendor invoices at the loan level using Microsoft Excel.
  • Reviews and verifies work completed by AP Specialists to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Maintains and reconciles AP records prepares journal entries and ensures consistency between subledgers and the general ledger.
  • Manages invoice processing ensuring timely review approval and compliance with company policies.
  • Organizes and maintains AP records documents and reports in accordance with retention and audit requirements.
  • Assists in the preparation and collection of data for 1099 reporting ensuring accurate year-end tax documentation.
  • Uploads invoice images and related documents into the Workday accounting system ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Investigates and resolves complex inquiries from internal departments and external vendors ensuring timely and effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Verifies and approves the setup of new vendors in Workday ensuring compliance with company standards and vendor policies.
  • Prepares and schedules wire transactions on behalf of the AP team as needed.
  • Assists with vendor communications regarding stale-dated checks and ensures compliance with internal procedures.
  • Supports the escheatment process by assisting in the research and remittance of unclaimed AP checks to appropriate state agencies.
  • Performs other duties and projects assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree preferred and a minimum of five (5) years experience working in a similar field.
  • Experience in the Mortgage industry preferred.
  • Experience with Workday accounting software preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and analytical ability.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $29.81 and $37.50/hr. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including your job-related knowledge/skills qualifications experience and market location.
