Context of the Role
The Centre for Operational and Research Excellence (CORE) is dedicated to developing and delivering solutions and services that empower the Institutes researchers to achieve high impact and high-quality research response to the Institutes expanding research portfolio and the increasingly complex external environment CORE has undergone a significant restructuring. The new operating model comprises three pillars: a strategic partnering function a design and development of solutions function and a regional research delivery function. The position will be based within the Research Strategy and Services team within CORE.
The Role
The Research Services Grants Officer will provide support across various functional areas in CORE.

The Grants Officer reports to Head of Strategic Partnerships Research Governance & Operations Research Strategy & Services UK
Duties and Key Responsibilities
As part of the UK team:
- Identify funding opportunities for TGI academics and researchers.
- Assist with preparing budgets for funding applications.
- Support the preparation of grant applications and review to ensure compliance and effective submission accompanied by required approvals as needed.
- Work closely with the line manager researchers and Imperial College London colleagues on other pre-award matters.
- Assist with collating the requirements for the set-up of projects.
- Assist with post-award matters including providing information for financial reports time sheets compliance project closure and other related matters.
- SPoT (Single Point of Truth) Funding database data entry (i.e. capturing milestones and other post award grant and application data) maintenance and may include liaising with the SPoT Quality Team and other relevant systems as required.
- Contribute to the maintenance of Global Research Strategy & Services knowledge management initiative the Global RSS SharePoint site.
- Assist with data collection tasks that various functional areas of CORE are responsible for.

Skills Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Relevant qualifications in business or administration.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Excel and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including ability to build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong focus on quality of work.
- Understand the need and for and demonstrate strict adherence to confidentiality.
- Ability to work well and flexibly i.e. autonomously in small teams and with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage own priorities and deadlines and support colleagues in their work when required.
- Ability to be resilient flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments.
Desirable
- Previous or ongoing experience of supporting grants/ projects.
