REPORTS TO: Building Principal
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Provide small group instruction to at-risk students. Supervise students during recess and lunch times. Administer medical interventions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Associate of Arts Degree 2 years of college credits or Para Educator Praxis
ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individuals assignments the office aide will perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:
- Ability to maintain a student centered organized positive climate
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively
- Communicate and respond effectively and in a friendly professional manner with students parents community members and school personnel.
- Ability to accept responsibility and take direction
- Work collaboratively and collegially.
- Comply with district rules and regulations.
- Conduct all work in a safe manner as specified by district rules.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to plan instruct and supervise elementary age students
- Ability to work one-on-one or in a small group with highly at-risk middle/high school students.
- Ability to provide support assistance and give specific instruction under the direction of a certified LAP Director.
- Skilled at record keeping and computers.
- Monitor students both in and out the classroom.
- Ability to administer medical procedures including but not limited to tube feeding dispensing medication toileting diapering seizure supervision.

STATE/DISTRICT MANDATED REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card or ability to attain one
- Fingerprinting (paid by employee)
- I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform Act
- HIV/HBV Training (district provided)
- Sexual Harassment Training (district provided)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- 180 Days per year
- 6 Hours per day
- Salary (DOE)
