Job Description
The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on and innovative Production Engineer to take ownership of both day-to-day production operations and the design of production systems for scale-up. This role covers the full production lifecycle from operating and refining existing processes through designing and setting up pilot-scale facilities to developing systems for large-scale industrial implementation.
You will be involved in every step of the journey: producing improving designing and scaling. This is a role for someone who enjoys working with their hands solving problems in real time and translating that practical knowledge into robust scalable engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Operate and manage daily production processes to meet quality safety and efficiency targets.
- Monitor record and optimise process parameters for improved performance and reliability.
- Design and establish a small-scale on-site production facility from concept to commissioning.
- Lead the development of systems and equipment for larger industrial-scale production.
- Work closely with engineers and scientists to troubleshoot and refine processes.
- Create designs specifications and operational documentation for scale-up projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety environmental and quality standards at all stages of production.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in production manufacturing or process plant operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment and systems.
- Proven ability to manage and improve production processes.
- Experience in designing installing and commissioning production or process systems.
- Commitment to safe operations and environmental best practices.
- Ability to work independently in a start-up environment with a high degree of ownership.
Preferred Skills/Experience (Not Essential)
- Background in mechanical chemical or process engineering (degree or trade).
- Experience in scaling up production from pilot to industrial scale.
- Knowledge of process automation dosing systems and control system design.
- Exposure to commissioning or building production facilities.
