Bishop Foley Catholic High School a Catholic Co-Ed High School in Madison Heights Michigan is seeking an Athletic Director. The Athletic Director is responsible for the implementation and ongoing administration of the overall sports program and athletic grounds of BFCHS.
Qualifications:
- Committed to Catholic Education and the core values of Bishop Foley Catholic High School
- Bachelors degree in Education Sports Administration or Sports Management; or equivalent experience in High School Athletic Program
- Possess necessary skills in working with and developing an athletic program
- Must be highly organized highly cooperative and able to work well with staff
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills understanding of finances and knowledge of Catholic High School League and MHSAA policies
Reporting:The Athletic Director is responsible to the Principal and serves as a part of the leadership team of Bishop Foley Catholic High School
Performance Responsibilities:
Administrative: - Encourage positive spiritual presence among students showcasing the values of Catholic institution with all athletic participants
- Administer Varsity and sub-Varsity programs as well as multiple Cooperative programs in which BFC is a participant/lead school
- Ensure compliance of athletic rules
- Oversee the athletic program budget
- Hire and evaluate all coaches and personnel
- Organize and supervise all facility and field maintenance
- Work with Marketing and Advancement to advertise and promote all department programs
- Manage Athletic Department social media accounts and online calendars
- Implement programs and special events for the athletic department
- Host MHSAA and CYO tournaments
- Attend all home CHSL Playoff and MHSAA Playoff events
- Monitor student eligibility
- Assist student athletes with college entry and NCAA/NAIA Eligibility Center requirements
- Promote student athletes at the local league and state levels
- Coordinate all game day requirements and volunteers including athletic service requirements
- Attend all required athletic meetings (i.e. CHSL MHSAA)
- Attend faculty administrative and athletic committee meetings
- Fulfill any school administrative requirements
- Order and maintain School/Family Athletic passes
- Maintain uniform inventory and uniform storage areas according to a rotating schedule of uniform refreshing
- Assure that referees are scheduled and paid
- Secure pool for swim
- Must communicate with Principal regarding major events major injuries major violations or critical parent issues
Additional Responsibilities: - Oversee the scheduling and responsibilities of the Rental Coordinator and Field Management Staff
- Promote field rentals and secure contracts and related paperwork
- Promote participation of all students as student-athletes providing positive school spirit and fostering intellectual physical and emotional growth.
- Work in concert and cooperation with clubs and extra-curricular activities at BFC
- Maintaining the safety welfare and behavior of students and the development of good community relations.
Summer Responsibilities: - Oversee Facility Maintenance
- Work with coaches and administration for the scheduling organization and promotion of summer camps
- Finalize schedules for upcoming sports seasons
- Submit all necessary CHSL Forms (non-league officials Catholic to Catholic transfers game changes etc.)
- Prepare for annual Coaches Meeting and help Coaches prepare for sport-specific Parent Meetings
Method of Application: Candidates with experience as an athletic director school administrator athletic assistant and/or coach are considered. A bachelors degree is required and additional degrees or certifications as well as experience with school athletic programs strengthen the candidates application.
