AMER Edge Data Center Operations team is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated individual to provide local and remote support for its Edge & PoP (Point of Presence) Data Centers in the Houston TX region.

We are looking for a highly autonomous detail-oriented individual who demonstrates a strong network and server troubleshooting skillset. You must possess excellent written & verbal communication skills and be able to take on a leadership role within a team environment to consistently deliver results for our customers. About the Role:
As an Burrow Edge Data Center Operations (DCO) technician at Amazon you will help build and maintain a world-leading cloud computing infrastructure across multiple data centers in the North America region.

A day in the life
- Triaging emergent data center issues using a ticketing system.
- Troubleshooting & configuring network and server hardware.
- Coordinating remote hands support with colocation providers.
- Working with cross-functional teams both internal and external.
- Leading network & server scaling projects to expand AWS Edge data center infrastructure.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of standard business hours including nights and weekends in support of a follow-the-sun on-call rotation and other time-sensitive escalations.
- Resolving data center facility issues.
- Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets standards.
- Driving the team to improve operational efficiency through process improvement initiatives.

- Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) in information technology or computer science or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of Computer Hardware including troubleshooting and repair skills.
- 1 years of Computer Networking experience.
- 1 years of experience with Storage Devices.
- This position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 40lbs; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.

- Experience working in a colocation data center facility.
- Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Understanding of distributed and service-oriented architectures.
- Advanced understanding of fiber optic & copper cabling standards testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies.
- Exceptional ability to diagnose and troubleshoot network device and link issues (Layer 1 & 2).
- Excellent knowledge of server hardware and components.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networks.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Excellent task prioritization and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to effectively manage through conflict.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $55900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $125100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
