Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance & Accounting Assistant on behalf of our client in Halifax NS. In this permanent role the successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting functions including processing accounts payable and receivable supporting month-end reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Accounts payable processing
  • Accounts receivable processing
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations
  • Enter and maintain financial data in Excel spreadsheets
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records
  • Provide general support to the department as needed
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is an asset but not required for the right candidate
  • Proficiency using QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Familiarity with Hubdoc and Plooto is considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
